The Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard” is an orange and black version of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe. It is inspired by the uniform colors worn by MJ in 1986 when he shattered a glass backboard while dunking in an Italian exhibition game.
This low-top Air Jordan 1 features a Black nubuck overlay with matching Swoosh. Leaning on the colourful contrast of the design, this drop comes right on cue for the Autumn months, boasting a Halloween-ready aesthetic defined by premium tumbled leather and soft velvet which covers much of the shoe. To compliment, a set of dark laces are included with Jumpman branding stamped throughout. The look is finished off with a Swoosh across the sidewall and that same vibrant shade of orange hits the outsole.
What does shattered backboard mean?
A backboard shattering (also known as backboard breaking or backboard smash) is an accident or stunt in basketball. It occurs when a player performs a slam dunk with sufficient force to shatter the tempered glass of the backboard, often causing the hoop to break off as well.
Why are Air Jordan 1 so good?
- The biggest reason why the Air Jordan sneakers are popular and why people continue to buy them is because they offer high-quality performance products. As high-quality shoes, they provide great comfort and support, unlike other products in the market.
- The Air Jordan is famous because it is not like the regular signature shoes. These sneakers represent a type of belief and pursuit and not just Jordan’s brilliant career.
